Birthday Party

Saturday was Drew's birthday party!  We had a great turn out and had a great time!  We had a lot of fun celebrating with our friends and appreciate everyone that made it to the party to help us have fun!

Here's some pictures from the party.

I made Drew a banana cake and frosted it with cool whip.  I shaped the cake into a "one"!  Here we are singing Happy Birthday to our birthday boy.

Drew didn't know what to make of the cake.  He eventually put his fingers in it and tried the frosting.  He was less than impressed.  I thought maybe it was just too much of a new thing for him so I tried to feed him from a fork.  Again, he was less than impressed and spit out the cake.

After the cake failure, we decided to try ice cream.  He liked the first two bites, but after that he didn't want anymore.

After the cake, we opened presents.  Here he's getting a soccer ball!  Drew didn't know how to open the presents at first, but toward the end he started getting the hang of it.  I had to help him quite a bit.

Our friend Lucy was the only other kid there.  Lucy is just seven weeks older than Drew!  Lucy and Drew had fun playing together.  Here Lucy is checking out Drew's new book.

At one point, Drew ended up in a box.  This was a lot of fun for Drew and Lucy to play with/in the box and also play with the tissue paper.

Drew also got a chair from our friends the Chungs!  We put the chair together right away and put Drew in it.  He liked standing on the chair and climbing over the arms.  The chair is just his size!  He can get in and out of the chair all by himself.  He was even getting a book and taking it with him to the chair and reading!  He loves it!

We also took the opportunity to take a family picture!  I think this one actually turned out fairly nicely!

Happy Birthday Drew!  We had fun celebrating with you!  We are going to do to more celebrating on Tuesday which is his actual birthday.  Drew hasn't opened his presents from Momma and Dadda yet so that will happen on Tuesday.  Who knows, we may even try the cake thing again.
