Happy Birthday! I can hardly believe that one year has already passed since we welcomed you into this world, but it has and it has been the best year of our lives. You are such a joy and so much fun to be around. We are learning your personality and you continue to amaze and awe us every day.
You are 24 pounds! You are wearing size 12 months clothes comfortably. You are wearing size 4 shoes (when you wear shoes, which isn't often). You are in Size 3 or 4 diapers (depending on the brand).
You are usually hungry, but don't always like what we make for you. Your favorite foods right now are mac n cheese, strawberries and cheerios. You are more likely to eat fruit than veggies although we keep trying to entice you with healthy options at each meal. You'll sometimes eat part of a chicken nugget, and you like cheese. You really like yogurt or anything that Momma happens to be eating. You get 4 bottles a day now in between the real meals. You are getting less and less interested in the bottles though.
You are sleeping well in general unless you are sick. You are still taking 2 naps a day, but you can skip an occasional nap and handle it fairly well.
You love reading! You will find a book and hand it to Momma or Dadda and we will read to you. Then you will go find another book and another book and another book! You never tire of your books. Sometimes you are content to read to yourself as well. Your favorite book is The Foot Book and you especially like the page that says, Here comes clown feet! Your favorite toy is your gear set you got from Grandma Pat at Thanksgiving, but you got a lot of new toys for your birthday. I think your new favorite is a carton of eggs that you got. You just love opening and closing the carton and putting the eggs in the carton.
You like to open and close drawers and cabinets. Sometimes you will look in the drawer and take something out but usually you are fairly content just to open and close it. It's really fun watching you play.
You are now walking! You still resort to crawling occasionally. You are definitely more comfortable crawling and know that you get to Point B faster on your knees. We're sure that won't last long!
You are so happy and smiley! It's contagious! A lot of things make you laugh and that is our favorite sound. You give strangers in the store smiles and they just adore you! Your teachers at daycare also adore you and without a doubt you are their favorite. Your easy going personality makes it easy for them to love you!
You stage quite the protest when you don't get something you want. The more tired you are the worst the protest is. Usually it'll just be some fussing, but if you are tired you will full out scream! It is pretty easy to calm you down and distract though.
Drew Bear, we love you so much! We can't wait to see what surprises this next year brings us and look forward to watching you grow, learn and develop.
