Wings Over Houston

Last Saturday (10/26/13), we decided to go to the airshow Wings Over Houston.  We had never been before, but we figured we were due for something fun (and not moving/unpacking related) and we thought Drew would like all the planes.  Whenever we are outside and he hears a plane, he will stop and look up in the sky for it and say “Airplane!”

We decided to go early, since we didn’t know what to expect in terms of parking, crowds, etc.  By the time we parked and made it into the gate it was about 9 oclock.  I thought the flying started at 10, but actually it started at 11.  There was still plenty to look at and do for that extra hour though.  When it was getting close to 11, we decided to pick a spot and pull out our blanket.  Drew was ready for lunch and he was getting tired as it was getting close to his lunch time.  We watched one or two plane demonstrations, then decided it was time to put Drew in the stroller and walk around.  He was antsy just sitting there and we figured if we walked, he would fall asleep in his stroller.  He ended up dosing for about an hour or so why we walked around.

The morning was nice, but it was starting to get warn in the early afternoon!  After Drew woke up (a little after one), we watched another demonstration and then I decided I had enough.  Momma was tired of walking and getting HOT!  It was a long day for all of us and we were all ready.  While Drew was sleeping, we bought him a souvenir airplane.  He got that once he got in his carseat and he loved it!  It was a $1 well spent J

It was a very fun day for us all, and we were exhausted that evening!  We went out later for a quick dinner and then we all ended up falling asleep early.  We definitely needed the outing though!  I’m not sure we would go to the airshow every year, but we had a lot of fun and were glad that we went!
