Houston Zoo

On Friday, we planned to go to the Houston Zoo.  We thought Drew would really like to see the animals and we were right.  It started off a little chilly, but turned out to be a gorgeous day.  It was perfect weather for the zoo.

We left first thing in the morning because we weren't sure how late into the afternoon we'd be able to stay since Drew typically naps in the afternoon.  We ended up getting to the zoo right after they opened about 9 am.  Drew was excited (so was Momma)!  We packed lunches and ate our lunch there.  We could tell Drew was getting sleepy about noon, but we wanted to see a few more things.  We ended with the reptile house, and Drew perked up a little to see all the snakes!  We knew it was time to leave though as he kept putting his head on Daddy's shoulder.  Drew ended up falling asleep about 4 minutes into the car ride on the way home.  We were able to put him down for a nap once we got home (he slept the whole way) and he still slept another 2.5 hrs!  The zoo really wore him out!

We all had different highlights.  Momma's was feeding the giraffes!  Drew also liked this, but we don't think it was his favorite.

 Drew really liked this chimpanzee.  He watched it for a good five minutes.

 But Drew also really liked the reptile house, so it's hard to say what his favorite sight of the day was!
