Dear Drew,
You are 11 months. I am completely stunned by how fast these past 11 months have flown by. I am busy planning your birthday party, but it seems like just yesterday I woke up your dad and told him that my water broke.
We were at the doctor on Friday for your MMR vaccine. Your stats are:
Weight: 22 lb 12 oz (90%)
Height: 29 inches (75%)
You are amazing. We have so much fun watching you play and figure things out. You are a quick learner! You are fast to repeat something that we show you. You love playing with boxes right now. You like to push them around, open and close them, sit on them! You are also starting to play ball with us. We roll the ball back and forth sometimes. You still love reading. Any time you are fussy (which isn't often at all) I can just sit down with you and a book and you will settle down. You still like pushing things around (stroller, your truck, the chairs) but don't do this as much as you did one month ago. You still love your tupperware cabinet.
You are sleeping really well. Lately you've been skipping the occasional nap at school. You never have napped as well at school as you do at home. We think that's because there's too much going on. You are still napping two times a day. The morning nap is about one hour, and the afternoon nap is about 1.5 hours, although occasionally either one will be longer. You generally sleep 11 or 12 hours at night and still like to wake up early (6:30), sometimes you sleep past 7 and Momma gets really happy when that happens on the weekends.
You are starting to eat more solid foods. You like feeding yourself and we aren't very successful at feeding you jarred food anymore. You are more willing to try finger foods though and thankfully we've found some that you like (mac n cheese, banana, cheerios, strawberries). You are a food snatcher. You have on multiple occasions stolen a bite of Momma or Dadda's food! We are in the process of weaning you from breastmilk to formula. You don't seem to mind or care one way or another. Momma still nurses you for the first two or three milk feeds of the day, but the afternoon and bedtime bottle are formula now. You eat about 30 oz of milk a day (in 4-5 feedings).
You are so close to walking. You stand by yourself frequently now. You can take one or two steps on your own, but that's about it. We're pretty sure you could walk, but you aren't sure of it yet. You refuse to walk with Momma or Dadda (holding our hand), but according to your daily papers, you do this often at school with your teachers.
You are still a chatterbox. We're pretty sure your first word is going to be banana. You are pretty close to saying that. You LOVE bananas, so when we get one out you start talking and it's really close to "banana."
You have 6 teeth now (4 on top, 2 on bottom). It appears that 2 more on the bottom might be coming through in the near future. You still drool a lot and like to chew on things!
We love watching you grow up and become quite the smart and handsome boy that you are, but we also wish the time wouldn't go so fast!
We love you, little Drew-man!
Momma and Dadda
