Happy Memorial Day Weekend!! We had a really great (long) weekend!
On Saturday, Drew and Momma went to the park to play. We decided to go early because the sun was hiding behind some clouds, and it wasn't as hot that way. We were at the park by 8:30! There is a park less than 1 mile from our home, so we try to go occasionally. Despite the nicer weather, Drew worked up a sweat within minute! Since we've been to this park a few times now, he's not so hesitant when we get there, and he runs right to the small slide. This time, Drew decided to slide down both other slides as well. Momma was a little nervous about the tall twisty slide, but Drew did ok. Drew might not have liked it very much though because he only went down it once on his own. For the most part we had the park to ourselves. After awhile another boy came to play. Drew was on the small slide at the time, and the other boy thought about going down the larger slide and his mom was encouraging him - but that boy was too scared! (This boy was between 2 and 3, I think). So, the little boy got off and came to the little slide and he and Drew shared the slide well. Then Drew went to the larger slide and slid down! I think he was showing off!
Overall, we really spent a lot of time outside this weekend. Drew LOVES playing outside. And he'll pretty much anything as long as it's outside. At one point, Dadda and Drew went out to play soccer, but Drew saw the brooms and decided Dadda needed help sweeping:
Our friends also had a small pool party on Sunday so we headed over after Drew woke from his nap. This was the very first pool Drew went in! Drew liked the water a lot more this time! He was splashing and trying to swim!
On Monday, we went to our friends' house for a crawfish boil. Dadda was the only Lusby that ate crawfish, but we all had a fun time! There were a lot of other little kids there, and Drew was not shy at all. He was running around checking out everything! He really liked the Little Tyke car to play in, and he also really liked eating a cupcake! If I had to guess, I'd say those were his highlights. The event wore him out though, as he fell asleep about two minutes into the drive home! What a fun weekend!
