Meeting Santa and Decorating for Christmas

Last weekend, Seabrook (our little town) hosted a breakfast with Santa.  Even though this was the same day as Drew's birthday party (12/7), I thought that we should go.  I figured a free breakfast with Santa beat trucking it to the mall to stand in line for overpriced pictures.  We got to the event right when it started and it was already a little crowded!  However, we didn't have to wait that long to see Santa.  Although, Drew did not like the idea of getting close to the big man.  Even though Daddy carried him up and Drew stayed with Daddy, Drew was on the verge of a meltdown.  We got a few pictures, then Drew enjoyed some pancakes.

Last weekend, we also got out the Christmas decorations.  While Daddy put up some lights outside before this, Mommy wanted the inside to be Christmas-free until after Drew's birthday party.  We put up the tree and let Drew help hang ornaments.  He loved decorating the tree and was very good at it!  (Although, if left to himself, all the ornaments would be on a single branch).

This past weekend, we were invited to a brunch with Santa.  Mommy thought that since we had a week of Santa talk and some preparation that Drew might be more willing to sit on Santa's lap.  He was very excited to see Santa but when it was our turn to go up, he decided that wasn't such a good idea anymore.  We didn't push it although we did ask him several times throughout brunch if he wanted to see Santa.  He was happy looking from afar.

This weekend Seabrook also hosted Santa on their fire truck!  This happens every year and is a cute event.  The fire truck drives Santa around and Santa throws out candy!  We weren't sure what time to expect Santa so we made sure to listen for the fire truck all morning.  Around 9 we heard it and hurried to get our shoes on and go outside.  Since we now live on a dead-end street, we had extra time to see Santa and the fire truck so that was pretty neat.  Drew really liked seeing Santa and the fire truck!  All day, he kept wanting to go outside to look for Santa Claus!
