About the time we weaned Drew off the pacifier (about 7 months ago), we started giving him a soccer ball blanket to sleep with. It was a transition that worked well, and Drew really liked snuggling up with his blankie.
Well, a few weeks ago when Drew was suffering from croup, one night I decided to give Drew a small pillow to sleep on in hopes that would elevate his head some and provide him some relief from the coughing. I actually did this late at night, and Drew was asleep the whole time so I just put his head on the pillow.
Now, Drew practically has a full crib of things that he needs to sleep with! First he picks out his book. This is nothing new...he's been sleeping with a book since he was quite tiny - probably for a year now. Next he gets his pillow, then one night he realized he also needed his giraffe. The giraffe was something that slept with him when he was younger, but we stopped putting it in bed with him because he didn't seem to care one way or another. Then one night he also realized he needed his stuffed lamb to sleep with. He still has his soccer ball blanket, and lastly we cover him up with a light blanket.
This is what it looks like in the morning...
