Happy Independence Day!

We had a fantastic 4th of July holiday weekend. Daycare hosted a parents' night out Friday night, so Brian and I kicked off the weekend with bowling and dinner sans kids. It's always nice to get some time to ourselves (and have a conversation that isn't interrupted every 10 seconds with MOMMY!).

Saturday meant soccer for the Lusbys. Landon had his soccer practice in the morning, and Drew ended up playing in a tournament in the afternoon. Drew was excited to be able to play since he's been off since May. He played in four games. It was a 3v3 tournament and had slightly different rules than he was used to, but he had a lot of fun. He played some pretty good defense and even scored a goal!

Boating day was Sunday! Our friend Jaclyn was able to join us for some fun on the water. It was fun catching up with her and she especially enjoyed seeing the boys! We spent about 4 hours on the boat. We skied, tubed, and swam! Fun was definitely had by all.

Monday! In planning the weekend, I was debating if we would go see fireworks Tuesday since we had to work on Wednesday, and then I found that League City was hosting a pre-independence day celebration on Monday. We checked it out and it was perfect! We got there a little after 6 (when it started), found a place to hang out and let the boys play in the bounce houses that were set up.

After all that fun, that meant that Tuesday was a rest day mostly. We did swim for awhile and ride bikes (Drew bought a new bike with his hard earned money!), but we tried not to over do it :)
