We got in Wednesday night, grabbed some dinner, and then went to Barry's. Thursday was a gorgeous day so we went to the old part of Annapolis. For the most part, we had a nice day. Landon threw one fit after another because he wanted to push the stroller we brought for him. This would have been ok, except he refused to let Drew ride in the stroller. We were so tired of the tantrums that we "forgot" the stroller at Grandpa Barry's when we left for the airport.
Friday we headed to Washington DC. By the time we made it to the stadium to pick up Brian's packet and look around at the running expo, it was already getting pretty late in the day. We found the hotel, checked in, and then grabbed some dinner. It was so cold by this point that we just called it a night. We also had an early race day on Sunday anyway.
Sunday was race day. Brian got an early start, and Krista and the Lusby guys headed out to cheer Brian on. Because of a metro mishap (broken train), we only made it to one spot and then the finish unfortunately. Brian made his goal of under 4 hours though and it quite a rockstar. After the race, we headed back to Annapolis.
Later that evening we met some of Brian's mom's family for dinner. It was quite the crew, and Drew was excited because he has a cousin just the same age as him.
We had a later flight on Sunday out of Baltimore so we met Cheri, Jared, Elliot and Rory for brunch. We tried to do a museum but we were unable to get to it due to another race occurring in downtown Baltimore. We decided to do a park instead (even thought it was very cold) and then found a conservatorium. After that it was time for the Lusbys to head to the airport.
We had a really good trip, but I think Drew sums it up best when he says: I don't want to go back there because it was too cold. [He is a Houstonian after all :)].
