Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year, we headed to Las Cruces. We left right after Landon's SoccerTots on a Saturday so we had a nice week long family break. The boys did really well on the long car ride (12.5 hrs). Drew kept asking why Grandma had to live so far away, but he handled the entire trip very well. Once we got in late Saturday, we got the car unloaded and the boys to bed.

We enjoyed a lazy Sunday at Grandma's Pat house, and enjoyed playing outside. On Monday, we decided to try White Sands. Unfortunately we picked the coldest day of the week to go and Landon was miserable, so mommy and Landon ended up waiting in the car while Drew and Daddy to play. Drew loved it though!

Tuesday we found this place called My Kids Café which is a large indoor play area for kids. It was perfect! Tuesday was two-for-one admission and we ended up spending the entire morning there. They had a large room with a lot of play/pretend toys and then a small bounce house as well. It was difficult getting the boys to leave when it was time.

Wednesday we had another restful day at the house. Then Thanksgiving day we drove up to Uncle Justin's house to celebrate Thanksgiving! Uncle Justin and Angela did a really great job cooking the whole dinner, and everything was delicious. The boys liked running around too, and Landon especially liked taking the ornaments off of Justin's Christmas tree. At least non of them were breakable!

We left New Mexico Friday morning. We knew the trip back from Albuquerque would be longer than the trip to Las Cruces, but we had no idea! The weather was awful and poor Brian had quite the drive back. The first few hours it snowed, then there was snow on the road (eastern NM and into Texas). As we drove south, it warmed some, but that just meant we had to deal with the rain. Our trek back had us on a lot of state highways so the roads were darker and less traveled. But we slowed down, took our time, and made it home safely (at 2 am, 16 hrs later) and that's all that matters!
